CALL FOR SPECIAL SESSIONS and PRELIMINARY CALL FOR PAPERS
45th EUROMICRO SEAA Conference in Thessaloniki / Chalkidiki, Greece
August 28-30, 2019
http://dsd-seaa2019.csd.auth.gr

The Euromicro Conference Series on Software Engineering and Advanced Applications (SEAA) is a long-standing international forum for researchers, practitioners, and students to present and discuss the latest innovations, trends, experiences, and concerns in the field of Software Engineering and Advanced Applications in information technology for software-intensive systems.

The 45th Euromicro Conference on Software Engineering and Advanced Applications (SEAA)
will take place in Thessaloniki, Greece from 28 to 30 August, 2019.

CALL FOR SPECIAL SESSIONS (*** Deadline: November 16th, 2018 ***)

The SEAA Conference is organized as integrated tracks and special sessions in diverse fields of Software Engineering. A track focuses on an area of interest for SEAA and has already successfully been part of the SEAA conference for several years. A special session provides dedicated focus on a recent topic within the frame of SEAA and might (depending on its success) eventually (in future conference instances) become a track. Both tracks and special sessions have their own program committees and chairs.

A list of already planned tracks and special sessions is posted below. For details on some of these, you can also refer to last year’s conference homepage.

The SEAA conference also welcomes proposals for new/additional special sessions that reflect current and future challenges in software engineering in various fields, perceived from different angles. We thus kindly invite all interested to propose special sessions. Proposals should contain: (i) name of the session, (ii) abstract with motivation, goals, and topics, (iii) name of co-chairs and tentative program committee. Please consider the already planned tracks and sessions posted below to avoid overlapping/too similar topics. Also keep in mind the software engineering focus of SEAA.

Please, submit your proposals till November 16th, 2018 by E-mail to the SEAA PC Chairs:
• Miroslaw Staron (miroslaw.staron@gu.se)
• Rafael Capilla (rafael.capilla@urjc.es)

Planned Conference Tracks:
• Embedded Systems & Internet of Things (ES-IoT)
• Cloud-based Systems and Microservices (CBSMS)
• Software Management: Measurement, Peopleware and Innovation (SM)
• Software Process and Product Improvement (SPPI)
• Systematic Literature Reviews and Mapping Studies (SMSE)

Planned Special Sessions:
• Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS)
• Estimation and Prediction in Software & Systems Enineering (EsPreSSE)
• Software Engineering and Technical Debt (SEaTeD)
• Software and Big data analytics (SBDA)
• Evidence-Based and Experiment-Driven Engineering (EBEDE)
• Advanced Business Process Management (A-BPM)
• Model-Driven Engineering and Modeling Languages (MDEML)

PRELIMINARY CALL FOR PAPERS

Important Dates
° Abstract submission to tracks and sessions: March 1, 2019
° Paper submission to tracks and sessions: March 15, 2019
° Notification of accepted papers: May 6, 2019
° Camera-ready paper due: June 3, 2019

Submission & Publishing
SEAA 2019 encourages the submission of full research papers (maximum 8 pages), short papers
(maximum 4 pages), tool demo papers (maximum 4 pages), and Posters. The format is the IEEE two-column proceedings format. Papers must contain original unpublished work, describe significant novel contributions, and provide evidence on the validation of results. In particular, reports on industrial applications are welcome.

The proceedings will be submitted to the IEEE Xplore Digital library and indexing services.

It is planned to select best papers among all tracks and special sessions of SEAA and present them with an award. A selection of best papers will be invited to submit extended versions for tentative publication in a special issue/section of a journal (to be negotiated).
