12th Balkan Conference in Informatics (BCI'2026)

The main objective of the BCI series of conferences is to provide a forum for discussions and dissemination of research accomplishments in Computer Science and Information Technology and to promote interaction and collaboration among scientists from the Balkan countries and the rest of the world, and to encourage involvement of young researchers from the region.
BCI'2026 accepts original papers dealing with both theory and/or practical aspects of wide areas of ICT.

BCI'2026 will be co-located with the 11th International Conference on Web Intelligence, Machine Intelligence and Semantics (WIMS), and the 18th International Symposium on Intelligent Distributed Computing (IDC). Participants will have the opportunity to interact with the corresponding research communities and submit papers to the co-located events.

IMPORTANT DATES
- Full paper submission: 27 April 2026
- Notification of acceptance: 22 June 2026
- Camera-ready submission & registration: 13 July 2026

CONFERENCE TOPICS
Papers related, but not limited, to the following topics of interest are welcome:
- Computer Systems Organization,
- Hardware,
- Networks,
- Software Engineering,
- Theory of Computation,
- Mathematics of Computing,
- Information Systems,
- Human-centered Computing,
- Computing Methodologies,
- Applied Computing,
- Social and Professional Topics,
- Natural Language Processing, LLMs.
Papers reporting on developments, reviews, proposals, and project on Information Technology in South-East Europe in the following areas are also solicited:
- Governance (e.g. systems in place, policies, etc.),
- Education (curricula issues, secondary and higher education, etc.),
- Professional Issues (e.g. employment, Computer Societies, entrepreneurship, etc.),
- European ICT Priorities (e.g. enterprise, smart specialization, aging, etc.).

SUBMISSION & PROCEEDINGS
Types of welcomed submissions: (a) full research papers (15 pages max including figures, tables and references) describing research accomplishments, (b) short research papers (10 pages max), i.e. experience reports, project overviews etc., which do not fully adhere to the standards of a first-rate scientific publication but are nevertheless of interest and value for the participants of the conference and (c) posters (4 pages). Submitted papers should be original contributions and should not have been accepted or submitted elsewhere. Papers must be submitted through the CMT system (follow the conference website link). For every accepted paper to be presented in the conference and included in the Springer proceedings, at least one author must fully register.

SPECIAL ISSUES
Selected papers will be invited to the SN Computer Science, Digital and ComSis journals.
